Read US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s statement calling for the World Health Organization to invite Taiwan to participate as an observer at this year’s World Health Assembly meeting so it may lend its expertise to the discussions!
外交部 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC(Taiwan) welcomes the statement, which refers to Taiwan as a “highly capable, engaged, and responsible member of the global health community” and references previous instances in which we have been included at the event.
The statement also states that excluding Taiwan from the event undermines inclusive global public health cooperation and security and underlines the US intent to continue advocating for Taiwan’s return as an observer.
