Director General David Cheng-Wei Wu and Mrs. Wu were invited to attend Christmas Party of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Australia (TCCA )
DG Wu praised TCCA’s contribution in connecting Taiwanese Australians and other ethnic communities and looked forward to working together with TCCA, NSW and Australian government to enhance ties between Australia & Taiwan. He also urged Australia to resume the negotiation of FTA and support Taiwan‘s bid to join the CPTPP.
The TCCA President Michael Wu expressed the appreciation for his team’s effort and shared that his goal of next 2 years is to introduce more successful Taiwanese entrepreneurs and raise the visibility of Taiwanese' achievement and contribution.
Besides community leaders and Australian business people, Members of NSW Parliament, including Assistant Speaker Jason Li, Anthony Roberts MP, Tim James MP and Mark Latham MLC also joined us to celebrate this festive season.
Mr. Roberts spoke about trade relation between Taiwan and Australia has been much closer saying "When the world is getting darker, we need something brighter, like democratic Taiwan." Mr. Latham also stressed that if you are friend of democracy and friend of national security, then you are friend of Taiwan.
