The Ministry of Health of Brunei announced that starting from February 15, self-isolation will no longer be mandatory for Covid positive cases. This is considering that Brunei has been in the epidemic control stage for about a year, and the people of Brunei have already had a high level of protection and immunity. The people have obtained mixed immunity through vaccination and natural infection. This new measure is also in line with the World Health Organization (WHO) guideline.
The new measure encourages rapid antigen test (ART) positive individuals to simply upload their ART results to the BruHealth app. Confirmed patients are no longer issued a mandatory isolation order rather an isolation recommendation, and the number of isolation days has also been updated to three to five days. Confirmed patients can decide to end self-isolation after they turn negative.
