Preface:
With a view to encourage outstanding foreign students to know traditional Mandarin/Chinese and culture in Taiwan, the Ministry of Education (MOE) in the Republic of China (Taiwan) provides the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) for foreign learners including beginners to study at any accredited Mandarin center in a university or college in Taiwan.
Award Value: A fixed monthly stipend of NT$25,000 (about 806 Euros, rate: 31), no other stipend.
Duration: 2 months (June to July or July to August, 2017), or 3, 6, 9, 12 months from September 2017 to August, 2018.
Application: from February 1, - June 15, 2017

Eligibility: Applicants must be citizens of the Baltic States, above the age of 18, who possess a high school diploma or above, and demonstrate excellent academic performance. (Applicants of other nationalities need to apply to the Taiwan Consulates or Missions in their native countries.)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Documents required: an admission from an accredited Mandarin Language Center, highest education certificate, transcript of last education year, an application form,passport and a photo.

- Taipei Mission in Latvia plans to notify the winner of scholarship after evaluation at 18 June 2017.
