International Organization Participation- Taiwan Can Help and Taiwan Is Helping

As President Tsai mentioned, we are truly appreciated Australia voiced out the support for Taiwan’s international participation, including
- DFAT spokesman responded publicly to the media on 1st May that "The challenge of COVID-19 demands a determined, global response. The WHO must therefore maintain a close working relationship with all health authorities," he said. "We support Taiwan’s participation as an observer or guest, consistent with our One-China policy."
- Minister for Health Greg Hunt delivered his speech in WHA meeting on 19 May,”…in response to the pandemic. …, Inclusivity has never been more important as we confront the immediate impacts on communities and economies. It is essential that no populations or potential partners are excluded.”
- Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison acknowledged the importance of the participation of Taiwan, as an observer, in the WHA in Australia-Japan Leaders’ VTC Meeting on 9th This is the first time in recent year Australian Prime Minister has announced to the public in supporting of Taiwan’s WHO participation.
- In the Joint Statement AUSMIN 2020 Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne and Defence Minister Linda Reynolds CSC along with their US counterparts affirmed Taiwan’s important role in the Indo-Pacific region as well as the intent to support Taiwan’s membership in international organizations, or meaningful participation as an observer or guest.
