The festival commenced with the opening night film, "Breaking and Re-entering." Ambassador Douglas Yu-Tien Hsu attended alongside distinguished guests from politics, academia, the diplomatic corps, and the Taiwanese diaspora, including David Smith MP, Ambassador of the Netherlands Ardi Stoios-Braken, Chargé d'Affaires of Paraguay Armando Fernandez Galtez, Chargé d'Affaires of Guatemala Alan Escobedeo, former Australian Representative to Taiwan Kevin Magee, Professor Carlyle Thayer, and President of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Australia, Michael Wu.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Hsu highlighted that more exceptional Taiwanese films showcased over the weekend would help explore Taiwanese culture and society through cinema.
