蔡明亮導演是台灣新電影第二波浪潮的重要電影導演之一，其電影在國內外各大重要影展獲得重大獎項，是在國際間享有高知名度的電影作者。曾在歐洲三大國際影展獲得多個重要獎項，包括以《愛情萬歲》（1994）與《郊遊》（2013）於威尼斯影展分別獲得金獅獎與評審團大獎，以及以《河流》（1997）於柏林影展獲得銀熊獎、《日子》（2020）獲得泰迪熊獎評審團獎，《臉》（2009）成為羅浮宮首度典藏電影，創下藝術電影的標竿與典範。共四度入圍威尼斯影展、三度入圍坎城影展、三度入圍柏林影展、八度入圍金馬獎最佳導演。
As part of the forthcoming Asia Pacific Triennial, A complete retrospective of the films of director Tsai Ming-liang will be showcasing at the Gallery of Modern Art cinema.
Director Tsai is one of the great filmmakers of the second wave of Taiwan New Cinema and we are very proud to be presenting such a comprehensive survey of his work at GOMA Queensland. The screenings begin tonight and continue until 22 December 2024; all the screenings are free.
Director Tsai will also be travelling to Brisbane to participate in an In Conversation event on 1 December 2024. This event will also take place in the Gallery of Modern Art cinema. At that talk, he will discuss his life, work and creative practice. This talk is ticketed and tickets cost $10 for adults / $9 for concession / $8 for QAGOMA Members.
