The 113th National Day Reception of the Republic of China(Taiwan) was hold on 9 October at SunPAc, celebrating the birthday of our country along with 200 dignitaries and communities leaders in Queensland.
Director-General Fan’s opening speech emphasized the successes of the Taiwan-Queensland partnership. He discussed Taiwan’s rise for both students and tourists numbers to Queensland and the mutual economic and cultural benefits of this exchange. He underlined the importance of the Queensland continued, unwavering support for Taiwan, and thanked the guests for their contributions to a deep and strong Taiwan-Queensland friendship.
Several distinguished guests also took to the stage to share their support for Taiwan, including Hon Leeanne Enoch, Mr John-Paul Langbroek MP, Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner of Brisbane City and Mayor Jon Raven of Logan City.
The speakers praised Taiwan’s vibrant democracy and progressive society while urging Queensland support for Taiwan through both institutions and individual connections. Sharing their warm personal experiences with Taiwan and Taiwanese people, the speakers emphasized unity among like-minded countries and support for Taiwan and expressed hope for even deeper exchanges between Taiwan and the Australia
On this special day, we not only celebrate our nation's founding but also commend the resilience and courage of the Taiwanese people. Taiwan is a vibrant democracy that has demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of internal and external challenges. Amid an increasingly complex international environment, Taiwan remains steadfast in upholding democratic values and protecting the fundamental rights of its people. We take immense pride in the freedom and democracy of this land!
