Brisbane’s Taiwanese community celebrates the Year of the Horse!
Director-General William Fan of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Brisbane, accompanied by Mrs Fan and Director Hsu of the Queensland Taiwan Centre, visited Sunnybank Plaza on 20 February to extend Lunar New Year greetings to the community.
During the Lunar New Year period, Taiwanese community groups in Queensland set up cultural booths featuring calligraphy, festive crafts, creative products, and traditional folk games, showcasing Taiwan’s rich cultural heritage to both Taiwanese expatriates and the wider Australian public.
Sunnybank Plaza, operated by the Taiwanese-owned YFG Group, once again presented vibrant New Year decorations, Year of the Horse displays, photo walls, and lively lion dance performances, creating a festive atmosphere for all visitors.
Director-General Fan expressed appreciation to community associations and Taiwanese businesses for promoting Taiwanese culture and tourism during the holiday season, and wished everyone a joyful and prosperous New Year.
