Application for a Police Criminal Record Certificate (PCRC)
Please read the following instructions regarding the necessary steps to take in applying for a PCRC. Be well aware that the ways for domestic and overseas applications are different. Police Criminal Record Certificate will be issued by Taiwan Police Department in Taiwan, TECO Melbourne only certify your identity to be used in Taiwan.
Steps to follow:
- Please have your current or old passport notarised by a Notary Public in VIC/SA/TAS (NOT JP). If you still keep an ARC or used an older passport while in Taiwan, please notarise those documents as well.
- Submit your notarised passport or original ARC to TECO Melbourne for document authentication. Documents can be submitted in person (online booking required) or via post.
- Collect the authenticated passport/ARC from TECO Melbourne.
- Post all the required documents (application form, your authenticated passport, fees and return envelope) to the Foreign Affairs Division, Taipei City Police Department for PCRC application.
(1) A completed Application Form .
(2) Proof of identity: a notarised copy of applicant's passport that's been authenticated by TECO Melbourne.
(3) Fees Options (Return Postage included).

| US$20 (cash) - for one copy of PCRC + to be posted to you by EMS. (EMS postage is subject to exchange rate. For further queries, please check with the Taipei City Police Department). |

(4) A self-addressed return envelope (with your name & Australia address ready).

Notes:
- If you assign an individual to apply on your behalf, you must submit a valid power of attorney (to be authenticated by the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Melbourne) , together with a completed PCRC application form. The assigned individual must present proof of identity when applying/picking up a certificate.
- An applicant's English name on the certificate MUST be identical to the one shown in the passport.
- It will take half a business day to issue a certificate; however, it might take longer if it is necessary to inquire from related judicial or military judicial authorities.
- To shorten the processing time, please provide relevant court or trial documents, if any, to verify your current criminal record status.

Passport / ARC Authentication (Processed by TECO Melbourne)
To authenticate your passport or ARC, please prepare and submit following documents to our office in person (booking required) or via mail.
1. A completed Application Form
2. Copy of your passport (MUST been notarized by Notary Public in VIC, SA or TAS), and Original ARC (optional additional document)
3. A prepaid envelope for returning your documents (if applicable)
4. Authentication fee:
- A$22.00 per document for 3 working days standard application
- A$33.00 per document for next day urgent application
