Director General David Cheng-Wei Wu was honored to attend the economic and trade seminar co-hosted by TCCA and TCCAJC, featuring Vivian Huang, Chief Strategy Officer for International Cooperation at the Institute for Digital Transformation (Institute for Information Industry, III), alongside Ben Hsu, Vice President of Hai-Jian Enterprise Co., Ltd.
Under the theme “Smart Cities and ESG: Driving Business Profitability,” the speakers shared valuable insights into the future of digital transformation in smart cities and corporate sustainability management, and how to turn these trends into long-term competitive advantages.
In his remarks, DG Wu emphasized that the seminar’s topics align closely with the “Twin Transformation” agenda—integrating digital transformation with the net-zero transition—announced by President Lai Ching-te in his inaugural address. As Taiwan advances towards a smart and sustainable future, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will be fully supported in their efforts to upgrade, transform, and expand into global markets.
DG Wu also reminded guests of the “Net-Zero World, Taiwan Action” event he hosted at the NSW Parliament, reiterating Taiwan’s significant contributions to global climate governance. He called on Australia and the international community to recognize Taiwan’s efforts and support its professional, pragmatic, and constructive inclusion in global climate initiatives.
We believe all attendees left the seminar feeling inspired and ready to turn challenges into opportunities.
