Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Australia (TCCA) hosted its 2024 Christmas Gala Dinner at Doltone House Hyde Park on 2 December 2024.
The TCCA President Michael Wu expressed the appreciation to his team and sponsors for making this year's events possible. He also played the video of Premier12 highlights and invited all guests to sing the support song altogether to pay tributes to Taiwan Team champion heroes.
Director General David Cheng-Wei Wu praised TCCA demonstrates the resilience and never-give-up spirit, just like our national baseball team winning the championship of WSBC Premier12.
DG Wu briefed the Integrated Diplomacy initiated by Foreign Minister Dr. Lin Chia-lung, highlighting Value Diplomacy, Alliance Diplomacy and Economic Diplomacy. These pillars are the key foundation that strengthen the close relationship between Taiwan and Australia.
DG Wu also urged Australia to facilitate the FTA negotiation with Taiwan and support Taiwan‘s bid to join the CPTPP for better enhancing the vibrant and thriving bilateral economic and trade cooperation. And, the special episode of Taiwan's accession to CPTPP, co-produced with the Airport Economist, will be released soon.
President Michael Wu also presented the donation of $27,600 that raised at the golf tournament to Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia witnessed by DG Wu. It demonstrated the Taiwanese community’s love for supporting the local community and people in need.
Besides business leaders from Taiwanese and Australian communities, Members of NSW Parliament, including Assistant Speaker Jason Li MP, the Hon Damien Tudehope MLC, Tim James MP, the Hon Aileen MacDonald MLC and Jacqui Munro MLC, Councilor Barbara Ward and Councilor Michelle Chuang also joined to celebrate this festive season. They all praised Taiwan's economic performance and democratic achievement and were delighted to see the much closer ties between Taiwan and Australia.
