The 16th Presidential and Vice Presidential Election of the Republic of China (Taiwan) was held smoothly and peacefully on 13 January 2024. It once again demonstrated the maturity of Taiwan’s democracy.
H.E. Dr. Lai Ching-te (賴清德), the incumbent Vice President, and his running mate H.E. Amb. Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) were elected as the new president and vice president. Congratulatory messages from numerous international friends have been received.
Taiwan will continue endeavoring to maintain peace & stability of the Taiwan Strait. It ill also continue working closely together with like-minded countries to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in investment & trade and many other fields.
