Ambassador Roy Chun Lee led colleagues on a visit to Lycée Edward Steichen International School in Luxembourg on June 27. During their time there, the school’s principal expressed a strong interest in fostering exchange and cooperation with our schools in Taiwan. In response, an online meeting between the school and Wego International School was facilitated on December 2.
Lycée Edward Steichen International School, located in the northern city of Clervaux, Luxembourg, is a public school that does not charge tuition fees. It offers a multilingual (English, French, German, etc.) and multicultural education and is the first high school in the country to provide every student with a tablet (iPad). The school offers kindergarten, primary, and secondary education, with a focus on cultivating students’ 21st-century skills.
Wego International School also emphasizes a bilingual approach, blending Eastern and Western education, and aims to both introduce the world to students and prepare them for the global stage. The school features a holistic education model, diverse teaching designs, and international curricula, offering programs from kindergarten to secondary school. The school also has a rural education center that allows students to experience nature, and most of its graduates are admitted to prestigious domestic and international universities.
Following each side’s online introduction, the two schools agreed to explore future collaborations, including reciprocal visits by faculty and staff, student exchange programs, and small-scale initiatives such as eTwinning and Makerspace Learning Projects. Language education and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) will serve as the primary areas of cooperation. Both parties expressed enthusiasm for future collaboration opportunities.
