The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has created the Taiwan-Europe Connectivity Scholarship programme to encourage Taiwanese and European universities to establish or expand academic cooperation through bilateral partnerships, and attract students from Europe to study in Taiwan.
The Taiwan-Europe Connectivity Scholarship is a decentralized scholarship, meaning universities receive a budget from the government to offer scholarships to European students and partner universities according to their needs. Universities can offer scholarships in all fields, for any duration. This means there is a varied offer of programmes available, ranging from dual degrees and bilateral exchanges to summer and Mandarin language courses.
Applications are handled by the universities themselves. The timelines can differ, but generally, the application period for the Spring and Summer intake opens in February and ends in March, while the applications for the Fall intake start in May and end in June.
Currently, 20 universities participate in the Taiwan-Europe Connectivity Scholarship programme. Any interested parties are welcome to contact the universities directly to find out about their offerings and how to apply.
