The Embassy was delighted to host a Taiwanese television crew from October 9th to 15th, including journalist Mr. Kevin Wang and videographer Mr. Jia-Yang He from the TVBS media, one of Taiwan’s leading broadcasting companies. The crew was accompanied by Mr. Oscar Wang from Central American Trade Office (CATO), which organized the visit.
The TVBS crew visited this beautiful Jewel to cover topics such as Taiwan-Belize relationship, as well as Belize’s policies on blue, green and orange economies.
They met with various organizations and government officials from Agriculture, Economic Development Ministries, Belize National Climate Change Office, Blue Bond and Finance Permanence Unit, National Institute of Culture and History of Belize, etc.；they also toured the country and filmed various industries such as Marie Sharp's Fine Foods Ltd, local seaweeds farmas, shrimp farms, Finca Chocolat, and some other MSMEs. Besides, they visited renowned tourist attractions like San Pedro, Caye Caulker and Hol Chan, to discover Belize’s biodiversity and learn about Belize’s environmental protection policies.
The Embassy would like to extend special thanks to Hon. Prime Minister John Briceño, CEO Amalia Mai of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belize and related officials for granting interviews to the crew and showing staunch support and warm friendship toward Taiwan.
The Embassy believes this broadcasting program will give its Taiwanese audience in-depth knowledge about Belize and help to promote economic, cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
