Payment is only accepted by Cash (Please prepare the full amount of fees, no change will be given for mailing and in person application.), Money Order, Bank Draft or Certified cheque (payable to “Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada” or " Taipei Eco. & Cul. Office in Canada"). Personal cheque is not accepted.

NOTE:

When you purchase a Bank draft or Bank Cheque, please make sure the cheque contains the Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) code.

【Required Documents】

REQUIREMENTS	DESCRIPTION
1. Application form	Go to website: https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw . Fill out the application form online and print it out. Make sure the application form shows a bar code on it. Sign the application form.
2. Two color passport-size photos	Paste on the application form two color passport-size photos with a white background taken within 6 months. Please refer to this page for guidelines for passport-size photo.
3. Original passport and one photocopy of the passport	The passport must be valid for at least 6 months and there are blank pages left in it. One photocopy of the passport bio-page including the holder’s picture is required.
4. Spouse's original Taiwanese passport and one photocopy of the passport
5. Health certificate	Please use the form to complete the health examination as the required health certificate. The health certificate should be issued within 3 months. Health certificates issued by Canadian hospitals must be authenticated by our office (you may submit it along with your application for visa; please refer to documents authentication).
6. Original and one photocopy of proof of no criminal record issued by competent authorities of the applicant’s country	In Canada, it refers to RCMP criminal record checks (with fingerprints). The document must be authenticated by our office. For information about RCMP criminal record check, please refer to this page. Documents should be issued within 1 year prior to the time of Resident Visa application. If an expiration date is noted on the document, Resident Visa application must be submitted before the document expires.
7. Original and one photocopy of marriage registration issued by competent authorities of the applicant’s country	Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a Chinese- or English-translation version. The original-language documents and the accompanying Chinese- or English-translation version must be authenticated by an Taiwan overseas mission. 8. Original Taiwan Household Registration certificate issued within 3 months	The Household Registration Certificate must show marriage registration, the foreign spouse’s name in his/her country’s native language and his/her nationality.
9. Other supporting documents	To be decided on a case-by-case basis.
10. Return Envelope	Within Canada －Prepaid return Xpresspost purchased from Canada Post －Greater Ottawa Region, Quebec: Please provide Regional return envelope; Newfoundland and Labrador: Please provide National return envelope. The detailed information please refer to this page. We are not responsible for delayed, lost, or stolen mail. If you want to apply by mail, a pre-paid self-addressed return Xpresspost/Courier envelope must be included.
11. Fees	Please refer to the page for detailed information regarding the application fees. Legalization/visa application fees are non-refundable once accepted, regardless of approval, rejection, or withdrawal of the application.

Visa issuance is an act of sovereignty. According to the “Statute Governing Issuance of R.O.C. (Taiwan). Visas in Foreign Passport” and “Enforcement Rules for the Issuance of R.O.C. (Taiwan) Visas to Foreign-Passport Holders,” we reserves the right not to issue a visa and is under no obligation to disclose the reason. Application fee for no-issuance cases is non-refundable.
Those who enter Taiwan on a Resident Visa or get a Resident Visa after having arrived in Taiwan must apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) and Re-entry Permit at local service centers of National Immigration Agency. The former must apply within 15 days from the next day of arrival, and the latter must apply within 15 days from the Resident Visa issuance date. Duration of stay is noted on the Alien Resident Certificate (ARC).
