Ambassador Rong-chuan Wu, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Toronto, attended the opening ceremony of the first Canadian location of the popular Taiwanese bakery Bake Code in North York on Sep. 17. At the ceremony, Ambassador Wu cut the ribbon with other distinguished guests, celebrating the arrival of this high-end bakery boutique, which, with its grand opening, will provide Toronto with another taste of Taiwan’s unique culinary culture.
In his congratulatory remarks, Ambassador Wu said that Taiwan’s cuisine culture is famous for its diversity and “customer first” service, which is widely welcomed by people around the world. In recent years, Taiwan government has helped Taiwanese food & beverage industry to expand its global reach and to explore new business opportunities. With its superiority in cost-cutting measures, supply chain management and innovative way of production, coupled with Taiwan’s mature cuisine culture and quality service, the industry has become a major element of the nation’s “soft power.”
Bake Code is an affiliate of Taiwan’s famous F & B group La Kaffa International, which, since its inception, has operated over 80 cities and 25 countries/regions in 4 continents, including Japan, Korea, China, the ASEAN countries, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. With its brand authorization model, La Kaffa International has diversified its business into Canada, and its affiliate Chatime now has 12 locations in Ontario.
