Toronto TECO attends the 61st Annual Conference of the Taiwanese Canadian Association

The 61st Annual Conference of the Taiwanese Canadian Association (TCA) was held on June 23, 2024, at the North York Library in Toronto. The conference was convened by David Hu, President of TCA, with participation of Vice President Michael Chen of TCAT and over 20 representatives from Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, and other regions.
Reverend Michael Stainton, President of the Taiwanese Human Rights Association of Canada, delivered a speech addressing Taiwan's name rectification issue, which resonated strongly with the attendees.
During the meeting, President David Hu presented the 2024 Taiwanese Canadian Community Contribution Award, recognizing the outstanding contributions of Taiwanese Canadians to the community. He also introduced important policy developments such as the Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy, Comprehensive and Progressive Arrangement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) ,and the Canada Foreign Influence Transparency Registry.
Deputy Director Hong expressed gratitude to the Taiwanese Canadian Association for its efforts in promoting the development of the Taiwanese community, integrating into mainstream Canadian society, and enhancing Taiwan's visibility in Canada.
