Former President Tsai Ing-wen's first stop in Canada on November 21 was a visit to the Taiwanese grocery store, the Maeli Market. Former President Tsai praised the store and said that it’s "really beautiful" and full of Taiwanese elements. On Facebook, she wrote, "I want to thank the Taiwanese living abroad, each in their own unique way, for bringing Taiwan to the world."
Former President Tsai also hopes that the Taiwanese compatriots continue exerting their influence to gain more countries' support for Taiwan's CPTPP membership and work together to deepen the friendship and cooperation between Taiwan and Canada.
