Grant for the Publication of Taiwanese Works in Translation (GPT) is set up by The Ministry of Culture to encourage the publication of Taiwanese works in translation overseas.
GPT 2026-1 is now inviting legally registered or incorporated foreign publishing house (legal entity) to take this opportunity：Submitting your project aiming at Taiwanese works in translation to be published in print in your country before Aril 30, 2028. A maximum of 2 applications can be submitted per period. The Taiwanese works to be translated must meet the following requirements：(1) Use traditional characters, (2) created by a natural person holding an R.O.C. identity card or by a foreigner holding a work permit issued by the central competent authority of the R.O.C. (unless otherwise stipulated by the Employment Service Act), and (3) has been assigned an ISBN in Taiwan. All genres will be considered. Applications must include documents certifying that the copyright holder of the Taiwanese work consents to its translation and foreign publication, and detailing the rights and obligations of both parties, such as the term and renewal, royalty and advance, etc. A translation sample of the Taiwanese work is required. In principle, the translation of application should be directly translated from the original language. The translator's CVs must state whether he or she has mandarin translation experience. Promotion fees are limited to expenses related to R.O.C. writers participating in overseas promotional activities, not including advertising fees; those who apply for this funding must propose a specific promotion plan and complete the implementation before submitting the grant project results. The maximum grant available for each project is NT$ 600,000 (20% tax included).
