The 5th Fazza Dubai Para-Badminton International 2023 took place in Dubai from December 10th to 17th, 2023. The Taiwanese badminton national team had a total of 7 players competing this time.
Director General Samee Chang and colleagues from the Commercial Office of Taipei in Dubai attended on the 17th to support the athletes. They watched the men's doubles gold medal match featuring Fang Zhenyu and Pu Guiyun. In a competitive match against Malaysian opponents, they ultimately achieved an impressive second-place finish.
Summarizing the results of the competition, in the fifth category, Fang Zhenyu and Pu Guiyun won the silver medal in men's doubles, and Pu Guiyun won the bronze medal in men's singles. In the sixth category, Wu Yuyan and Cai Yilin won the gold medal in women's doubles, and Cai Yilin won the bronze medal in women's singles. The overall performance was quite remarkable.
Team leader Xie Jihong stated that this competition was one of the point races for the athletes leading up to the 2024 Summer Paralympic Games in France. The Taiwanese athletes gave their full efforts to the competition to increase their points and rankings.
