Representative Janet Chang was deeply honored to witness the historic signing of the Arrangement on Air Services between Taiwan and Finland alongside Taiwanese and Finnish civil aviation officials and airline representatives. It was a moment both moving and unforgettable.
Since taking office, Representative Chang has actively worked toward this goal. On the morning of February 27, 2025, the heads of the respective civil aviation authorities officially signed this landmark document. Notably, Finland is the first Nordic country to establish such an arrangement with Taiwan.
This milestone not only signifies a significant step forward in bilateral relations but also lays a solid foundation for substantive exchanges between the airlines of Finland and Taiwan. We eagerly anticipate that both sides will soon engage in discussions to transform this document into flight services between the two countries, thereby further promoting tourism and cooperation in other areas. Every year, nearly 19 million Taiwanese people travel abroad, and the number of Taiwanese tourists visiting Finland has also significantly increased. In the future, direct flights between the two countries will surely create endless opportunities.
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our Taiwanese and Finnish partners who have made this milestone possible. Let us continue to work together to transform this historic opportunity into shared prosperity for both nations.
