The "Chinese Taipei" team travelled to Ireland last week to compete in the 2019 European Senior and World U23 and Junior Outdoor Tug Of War Championships. After four days of grueling competition and outstanding efforts, the team from Taiwan secured a total of 5 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze medals, and were undeniably victorious in achieving glory for Taiwan.
Presented by Representative Pierre Yang on their behalf, Minister of Education, Wen-Chung Pan, and the Director General of the Sports Administration, Ministry of Education, Mr. Chin-Hsung Kao, sent their special congratulations to the delegation for their momentous accomplishments.
The “Chinese Taipei” team, 85 people in total, was led by the Dean of College of Physical Education, National Taiwan Sports University, Professor Yung-Wang Huang. The tournament was held at the stunning location of Breaffy House Resort in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, from September 5th to 8th.
Boasting 21 fiercely competitive national teams, the events were divided into the categories of European Championships from the 5th to the 6th of September, and World Championships from the 7th to the 8th. With the “Chinese Taipei” team participating in various group competitions over the duration of the tournament, they managed to secure a number of fantastic achievements for which they and their country should be exceedingly proud.
