The “Need for Taiwan’s inclusion as an Observer in the World Health Organisation” webinar was hosted by Mr. Siddhartha Ghosh, Director Research of Indian Think Tank Red Lantern Analytica.
Mr. Bor-Huei Hsieh, Deputy Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India first introduced recent development of growing Taiwan-India bilateral ties and elaborated the achievements and contributions of Taiwan Healthcare community. Deputy Hsieh urges Indian friends to support Taiwan’s bid to participate in World Health Assembly and World Health Organisation meetings.
Dr. Li-Chien Chien, Director of the International Medical Center, National Cheng Kung University Hospital (NCKUH) shared his experience of visiting India and emphasized the opportunities of medical research, traditional medicine material, and medical device cooperation. Dr. I-Lin Hsu, Chief Executive Officer of NCKU Health Service and Digital Innovation Promotion Office introduced Taiwan’s medical competitiveness. Dr. Devendra Kumar gave the example of Taiwan’s very early warning on possible covid case to the world and supported the need for WHO to include Taiwan as an observer without giving in to pressure from China.
