Compassion Knows No Borders: Strengthening Taiwan–India Connections

Ambassador Dr. Mumin Chen visited Bal Ashram, a rehabilitation center in Viratnagar, Rajasthan, founded by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi. During the visit, he met with around 80 rescued children, as well as 8 Taiwanese volunteers, and learned more about the center's longstanding commitment to protecting and empowering vulnerable children.
The visit also marked Ambassador Chen's third meeting this year with Taiwanese volunteer groups in India. It is encouraging to see a growing number of Taiwanese NGOs and volunteers engaging with local communities through meaningful service and humanitarian work.
We look forward to seeing even more people-to-people exchanges between Taiwan and India, creating opportunities for people on both sides to better understand each other's societies and experience their authentic and diverse cultures firsthand. We believe that every meaningful interaction helps foster mutual understanding and lasting friendship, further strengthening the Taiwan–India partnership through genuine human connections.
