H.E. Ma Ying-Jeou, President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), sent a congratulatory letter to the Hon. Rajnath Singh, President of Bharatiya Janata Party, on May 16, 2014, extending his congratulations on the latter’s victory in the 16th Lok Sabha elections. In the letter, President Ma recalled his visit to India in 2007 and his meeting with the Hon. Singh during that visit. He expressed his belief that, based on both country’s commitment to upholding values of democracy and freedom, the relations between India and Taiwan can be further strengthened through closer cooperations.
