On February 16, Director General Homer Chang and Mrs. Chang of TECC in Mumbai were invited to attend a gathering with Taiwanese compatriots to celebrate Lunar New Year’s Eve, bidding farewell to the final day of Year Snake and welcoming the arrival of Year Horse.
While enjoying Taiwanese cuisine, they exchanged experiences of working and living in India, discussed to promote India-Taiwan connectivity through integrated and economic ways, and shared views on New Year’s traditions in India and Taiwan—such as rangoli and spring couplets, wearing new clothes and hats, welcoming the God of Wealth and the Lakshmi Puja, the new over the old and celebrating the return of Lord Rama with lighting, among others. The event highlighted the shared cultural values and positive spirit between the two countries, reflecting the common theme of “With the new year’s beginning, all things are renewed.”
