Mr. Stephen Hsu, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai (TECC), visited the office of the Southern Region of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII-SR) on June 11, 2026, and held discussions with Chairman Mr. Ravichandran Purushothaman, Regional Director Mr. Indranil Ghosh, and Director & Head of Tamil Nadu Mr. B. Jeikrishnan.
During the meeting, Chairman Purushothaman briefed DG Hsu on the history and development of CII-SR and outlined the organization’s current priorities. He highlighted CII-SR’s strong interest in expanding cooperation and exchanges with Taiwan in a range of sectors, including semiconductors, machinery, green technologies, electric vehicles, and textiles.
DG Hsu expressed his appreciation for CII-SR’s proactive efforts to strengthen engagement with Taiwanese industries and reaffirmed TECC’s full support for promoting economic, trade, and industrial cooperation between Taiwan and Southern India. He emphasized that Taiwan and Southern India possess significant complementarities in manufacturing, technology, innovation, and supply chain development, and expressed confidence that deeper collaboration would create mutually beneficial opportunities for both sides.
