1. One copy of the Household Registration Certificate issued within 3 months is required if the individual, whom the applicant intends to join, is an R.O.C. (Taiwan) citizen with household registration. 2. Original and one photocopy of Certificate of Residence in the R.O.C. (Taiwan), Alien Permanent Residence Certificate, Alien Residence Certificate, or other kinds of residence permits issued by the National Immigration Agency are required if the individual, whom the applicant intends to join with, is an R.O.C. (Taiwan) citizen without household registration, a foreigner having obtained APRC or ARC, a Hong Kong or Macau resident, or a Mainland Chinese citizen. The documents must be valid for more than 6 months. |

1. For applicants who are under age 18 and are the children of an R.O.C. (Taiwan) citizen with household registration, and the applicant’s parents must currently have household registration in the R.O.C. (Taiwan), one original Household Registration Certificate issued within 3 months that shows registration of the parents’ marriage is required.2.For applicants who are under age 18 and are the children of an R.O.C. (Taiwan) citizen without household registration, a foreigner having obtained APRC or ARC or other kinds of residence permits, a Hong Kong or Macau resident, or a Mainland Chinese citizen, proof of parent’s marriage is required.3. 6 | Health Certificate | 1. The health certificate should be issued within 3 months by one of the local hospitals designated by the Centers for Disease Control of Ministry of Health and Welfare of the R.O.C. (Taiwan) or a foreign hospital.2. Health certificates issued by hospitals outside of Taiwan or Japan must be authenticated by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission.3. Visit the website of the Centers for Disease Control at https://www.cdc.gov.tw/En for health checkup items and the list of designated local hospitals.
4. Applicants of the following categories are not required to present the health certificate: (a) minors under age 6 (b)both the visa applicant and the family member(s) currently investing or employed as white collar worker(s) in the R.O.C. (Taiwan), whom the applicant intends to join with, are from countries whose citizens are eligible for visa-waiver entry into the R.O.C. (Taiwan) |

Processing time: 1 Week
1. For exceptional cases and those where concurrence is required from the ROC’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the amount of processing time taken is dependant upon the length of time taken by MOFA to complete its verification and approval. Under such circumstances, our officers will advise applicants independently on the actual processing time required depending on the nature of the case.
2. Visas are issued as stipulated by Article 12 of the Statute Governing Issuance of ROC Visas for Foreign Passports. As a sovereign nation, the ROC has the right to refuse applications for visas without providing any explanation for such decisions; visa application fee is not refundable.
3. Documents produced outside of the R.O.C. (Taiwan) must be authenticated by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission; if produced in Mainland China must be authenticated by Straits Exchange Foundation. Documents that are in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a Chinese- or English-translation version. The original-language documents and the accompanying Chinese- or English-translation version must be authenticated by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission.
4. Those who enter the R.O.C. (Taiwan) without a visa or with a landing visa and those who currently stay in the R.O.C. (Taiwan) as blue-collar workers may not apply for a Resident Visa on the ground of joining parents.
5. Those who enter the R.O.C. (Taiwan) on a Resident Visa or get a Resident Visa after having arrived in the R.O.C. (Taiwan) must apply for an Alien Resident Certificate and Re-entry Permit at local service centers of National Immigration Agency. The former must apply within 15 days from the next day of arrival, and the latter must apply within 15 days from the Resident Visa issuance date. Duration of stay is noted on the Alien Resident Certificate.
