On May 14, Ambassador Edward Tao and Secretary Wei inspected two “Made-in-Taiwan” low-floor electric buses that are scheduled to be handed over to the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis. During the visit, they exchanged views with factory technicians on vehicle preparation, operational readiness, and long-term maintenance planning.
To support the Federation’s sustainable development vision and advance the goal of “2050 Net-Zero Emissions,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) facilitated the procurement of low-floor electric buses manufactured by Tron Energy Technology. The vehicles will be used as school and paratransit buses, helping improve accessibility, transportation services, and environmental sustainability.
This initiative marks the first introduction of electric buses in Saint Kitts and Nevis and represents a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation on green transportation and sustainable development. It also highlights the strength and innovation of Taiwan’s electric vehicle industry in expanding into international markets.
Taiwan will continue to work closely with its allies under the spirit of “Taiwan Can Help,” strengthening cooperation in green energy, smart transportation, and sustainable development to build a more resilient and sustainable future for all.
