The Republic of China (Taiwan) Embassy will be receiving ICDF Scholarship Applications from 1 December 2023 to 15 March 2024
The application for the 2024 Taiwan ICDF Scholarship programmes are open to Saint Lucian students as of 1 December 2023 through 15 March 2024.
**Please Note 1: The application information for the 2024 Taiwan MOFA scholarship will be available from 1 February 2024 through 15 March 2024. **
**Please Note 2: For I-Shou University “School of Medicine for International Students” Scholarship, please wait for further announcement.
- The scholarship programmes provide opportunities for young talented Saint Lucians to study in Taiwan for Master or PhD degrees. The awardee list will be announced on the Embassy’s website on 30 June 2024.
- Applicants are requested to apply for ONLY ONE programme. Multiple applications will result in direct disqualification of your application.
- A briefing on the above-mentioned scholarship programmes will be held by the Embassy and the Ministry of Education, Government of Saint Lucia. Detailed information will be announced on their respective websites and its Facebook pages once determined.
- All application documents should be delivered to the Embassy by the deadline of 15 March 2024 by 5:00pm; any delivery beyond that date or applications without all required documents will not be accepted. Please be informed that submitted documents will not be returned to applicants.
- The Embassy will interview qualified applicants, who will be notified by email/phone.
Notice:
- For applicants who have received any of the above-mentioned scholarships before and would like to apply for the 2024 Scholarship, their previous graduation date in Taiwan and the date of return to Saint Lucia should be prior to 15 March 2023. Please attach a copy of the page containing port of entry stamps on the passport or other related proof when handing in the application to the Embassy. Applicants who have been granted MOFA Taiwan Scholarship before cannot be granted the same scholarship again.
- The applicant should be of Saint Lucia nationality. Previous scholarship recipients who have been disqualified by the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) or the school are not eligible to apply again.
Application procedures:
Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) Scholarship
*For Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) Scholarship Program 2024 now open for application until March 15, 2024 by 5:00pm.
- The scholarship program enables St. Lucian students to pursue a specified Master or Doctoral Degree program in 21 Partner Universities of ICDF starting from September 2024. There is a total of 28 study programs (25 Master Program, 3 Ph.D. Program)available for the scholarship application.
- Applicants should choose ONE program and complete BOTH the online university application form and the ICDF Scholarship online application form.
The TaiwanICDF provides each scholarship recipient with a full scholarship, including return airfare, housing, tuition and credit fees, insurance, textbook costs, and a monthly allowance. - Applicants shall apply for the scholarship online and send the required documents via registered mail or deliver directly to Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in St. Lucia before 15th March 2024 .

2024 ICDF Scholarship-Application Guide Book - Applicants should print out the hard copy of the scholarship application forms on the website and submit to the Embassy along with:
1. Partner University application form or confirmation or reply email from university
2. A photocopy of the applicant’s passport biodata page or other document showing proof of nationality.
3. A photocopy of the applicant’s highest-level diploma and official academic transcripts.
4. A photocopy of the applicant’s English proficiency certificate.
5. (Please note: This means a TOEFL test score or that of another recognized English proficiency exam, or documents certifying that the applicant has graduated from a program where all courses were taught in English. Applicants who are unable to provide such proof of English proficiency due to special circumstances may be assessed for English proficiency by an ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate General/ Representative Office via interview or other forms of testing. Applicants whose official national language is English are exempted from these documents.)
6. Two letters of reference.
7. A Police Clearance Letter (police records).
For Saint Lucia Government Officials:
- For Saint Lucia Government officials who are interested in the scholarship programs, approval documents from their assigned Ministry will be required. They also need to complete the Government Scholarship Application form and submit it to the Human Resource Development (HRD) Department of the Ministry for Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development, with copies of all documents required for different scholarship programs.
