Apply Now for the 2025 Taiwan Scholarships!
The Republic of China (Taiwan) Embassy in Saint Lucia is now accepting applications for both the 2025 MOFA Taiwan Scholarship and the 2025 Taiwan ICDF Scholarship. These two programs provide Saint Lucian students the opportunity to pursue Undergraduate, Master’s or Doctoral Degrees at prestigious universities in Taiwan.
Available Scholarships:
- MOFA Taiwan Scholarship- Undergraduate, Master's or Doctoral Degrees
- Taiwan ICDF Scholarship- Master's or Doctoral Degrees
Key Dates:
- Application Period: Open now through Friday 14 March 2025 (by 5:00 PM).
- The online application for the 2025 MOFA Taiwan scholarship will start from 1 February 2025.
- A briefing on these scholarships in January/February 2025 will be jointly held by the Embassy and Saint Lucia’s Ministry of Education, with details to be announced on their websites and Facebook pages.
- The Ministry of Education and the Embassy will interview qualified applicants in the end of March 2025, who will be notified by email/phone.
- Award Announcement: Before 30 June 2025 on the Taiwan Embassy’s website.
Key Information:
- Applicants must be Saint Lucian nationals.
- Each applicant is allowed to apply for only one program. Submitting multiple applications will result in immediate disqualification.
- All application documents must be submitted to the Taiwan Embassy no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, 14 March 2025. Late submissions or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Please note that submitted documents will not be returned.
- Applicants who have previously received one of the mentioned scholarships and wish to apply for the 2025 Scholarship must ensure their graduation date in Taiwan and return to Saint Lucia occurred before 14 March 2024. A copy of the passport page with port of entry stamps or other related proof must be included with the application.
- Applicants who have been awarded the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship previously are ineligible to apply for the same scholarship again.
- Former scholarship recipients disqualified by the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) or their institution are not eligible to reapply.
MOFA Taiwan Scholarship
- Application deadline: 5:00 PM on Friday, 14 March 2025.

- If preferred, a written application can also be submitted from now.
- Please print and submit your completed online or written application to the Taiwan Embassy no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, 14 March 2025.
- Optional non-degree Mandarin Language Enrichment Programme (LEP): 1 year maximum (not applicable for whole English taught degree program)

Required Documents:
- Completed application form.
- A photocopy of their passport bio-data page or other documents that prove nationality.
- A certified copy of the highest-level diploma or certificate of equivalent educational level and an official complete grade transcript. If issued by a foreign educational institution, these documents must be authenticated by an ROC diplomatic mission, or directly mailed by the foreign educational institution the applicant attended to the educational institution they plan to matriculate at (if these documents are in languages other than Chinese or English, a Chinese or an English translation should be provided).
- Students will be required to apply to an educational institution or its affiliated Mandarin Training or Language Center. The acceptance letter, confirmation or note of reply or email from the educational institution must be provided to the Embassy. This can be done after the announcement is made.
- A photocopy of a TOEFL transcript, a certificate of English proficiency approved by the applicant’s government, or documents to certify that the applicant has graduated from a programme taught in English. This does not apply to applicants whose official national language is English.
- Two recommendation letters (either using the recommendation form provided in the scholarship application or in your own format).

Taiwan ICDF Scholarship
- Application deadline: 5:00 PM on Friday, 14 March 2025. (https://web.icdf.org.tw/ICDF_TSP/WelcomeStart.aspx)
- Offer only whole English taught post graduate degree programmes.
- Programs: 29 available (26 Master’s and 3 Ph.D.) at 19 partner universities.
- Full scholarship coverage includes round-trip airfare, housing, tuition, insurance, textbooks, and a monthly stipend.

Application Process:
- Apply online for both the university program and the ICDF Scholarship.
- Submit a printed copy of both applications along with required documents to the Embassy.
Required Documents:
- Partner University application form or confirmation or reply email from university
- A photocopy of the applicant’s passport bio-data page or other document showing proof of nationality.
- A photocopy of the applicant’s highest-level diploma and official academic transcripts.
- A photocopy of the applicant’s English proficiency certificate.(Please note: This means a TOEFL test score or that of another recognized English proficiency exam, or documents certifying that the applicant has graduated from a program where all courses were taught in English. Applicants who are unable to provide such proof of English proficiency due to special circumstances may be assessed for English proficiency by an ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate General/ Representative Office via interview or other forms of testing. Applicants whose official national language is English are exempted from these documents.)
- Two letters of reference.
- A Police Clearance Letter.
For Government Officials:
- For Saint Lucia Government officials who are interested in the scholarship programs, approval documents from their assigned Ministry will be required.
- They also need to complete the Government Scholarship Application form available at: Saint Lucia Scholarship Application Form (http://www.govt.lc/forms/scholarship-application-form or at the HRD Department of the Ministry for Education)
- Submit these forms to the HRD Department, Ministry of Education (4th Floor, Francis Compton Building, Castries) with copies of all documents required for different scholarship programs.
