Lime blossom symbolizes everlasting and faithful friendship. President David Kabua and ROC (Taiwan) Ambassador Jeffrey Hsiao along with cabinet members jointly planted native species lime trees at Taiwan Technical Mission (Laura Farm), in celebration of the inauguration of President Dr. Tsai Ing-wen and Vice President Lai Ching-te of the ROC (Taiwan) on May 20, 2020.
On arriving TTM, President David Kabua expressed his blessing by writing “Congratulation, President Tsai and Vice President Lai. Jeramon from the RMI” on a poster, then enjoyed a tour of the farm.
At TTM office, Amb. Hsiao presented second batch of 20,000 face masks to President Kabua for the RMI’s preparation for Covid-19 response. On behalf of President Kabua, Foreign Minister Casten Nemra expressed his appreciation to the people and government of the ROC (Taiwan) for Taiwan’s continuous donation of medical supplies and funding to combat Covid-19, and congratulated President Tsai and Vice President Lai of the ROC (Taiwan) on their inaugurations. Minister Nemra emphasized the RMI government looked forward to working with Taiwan to further strengthen relationship between two countries during President Tsai’s second-term.
While tasted dishes made from TTM’s fresh produces for lunch, President Kabua and Amb. Hsiao watched live streaming of the inauguration celebration events in Taipei, and saw numerous congratulations offered by foreign leaders and dignitaries, including a congratulatory video clip from President Kabua. Before leaving, President Kabua told Amb. Hsiao, “It’s burning hot. I’m all sweaty, but full of joy.” President Kabua appreciated Amb. Hsiao and his staff elaborately arranged this special program for them to celebrate the inauguration of President Tsai and Vice President Lai.
