ROC (Taiwan) Ambassador Winston W.Y. Chen attends the 35th Constitution Day Celebration of the Republic of the Marshall Islands(RMI)

By invitation of the RMI government, ROC (Taiwan) Ambassador Winston W.Y. Chen attended its 35th Constitution Day Ceremony on May 1, 2014. The celebration on May 1 first started with a mass parade of 2,000 people, including staff from the R.O.C. (Taiwan) Embassy, Taiwan Technical Mission, Taiwan Health Center, and the members of Taiwanese Association in the Republic of the Marshall Islands waving RMI and ROC national flags and signs during the parade. During the ceremony, H.E. President Ma Ying Jeou’s congratulatory message to the Marshall Islands was announced along with congratulatory messages from other Heads of States including those of U.S. President Barack Obama and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in both English and Marshallese. On the evening of May 1, Ambassador Chen attended the Constitution Day Reception and enjoyed the evening with H.E. President Christopher Loeak, First Lady Anono Loeak, and other RMI political leaders. A 30 minute fireworks display sponsored by ROC (Taiwan) Koo’s Fisheries also took place during the reception as another tribute to the RMI 35th Constitution Day.
