ROC (Taiwan) Ambassador Daniel D.W. Tang attended the Handover Ceremony of the Tobolar’s new coconut oil Tanker truck at Woja refinery plant in the afternoon of January 31, 2017. The new coconut oil Tanker truck is a contribution to Tobolar Copra Processing Authority funded by the government of the ROC (Taiwan). It will be used to deliver crude coconut oil from Delap mill plant to Woja refinery plant.
H.E. President Dr. Hilda C. Heine, Hon. Minister in Assistance to the President Mattlan Zackhras, Hon. Minister of Resources and Development Alfred Alfred Jr., Hon. Minister of Transportation and Communication Mike Harlferty, Hon. Senator Sherwood Tibon, traditional leaders, relevant government officials and Laura Farm leader Ms. Alison Hsu were invited to the ceremony.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Ambassador Tang emphasized that coconut is an important economic product in the RMI and the Tobolar refinery plant in Woja has been producing high quality coconut cooking oil and beauty oil products. Ambassador Tang is confident that, with the new coconut oil tanker truck, the refinery plant would be able to increase its production quantity not only for local market but also for export markets which would greatly contribute to the RMI economic development.
Ambassador Tang also reiterated the strong commitments of the ROC (Taiwan) in strengthening staunch diplomatic relations and furthering mutual benefit partnership with the RMI. The Embassy would make every effort to continuously cooperate with the government of the RMI to enhance people’s welfare and economic development of the RMI.
