The 4th Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Award Ceremony took place in Taipei on November 8 at Chang Yung-Fa Foundation. Representative Phoebe Yeh extended her heartfelt congratulations to the 4 distinguished Malaysian alumni for their significant achievements. The award recipients include YB Lee Chin Chen, Deputy Speaker of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly (studied at Chinese Culture University and the Department of Political Science of National Taiwan University), Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Tang Yong Chew, JP, Chairman of Goldstone Group (studied at Taipei Medical University), Mr. Peng Choong Leng, Founder of IQS Wood Sdn Bhd ( studied at Chung Yuan Christian University), and Mr. Ng Kim Poh, Chairman of Amko Industrial Co., Ltd.(studied at National Taiwan Normal University).
The MOE inaugurated the Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Awards in 2018 to honor exceptional foreigners who had studied in Taiwan, promote international exchange, and inspire current and future international students. The awardees are recognized for their remarkable achievements across various fields, including academic research, business and industry, politics, humanities, and communications. Over the past three years, Malaysia has proudly produced outstanding alumni recipients of this prestigious award. This year, the awards recognize a total of 11 representatives from Malaysia, Indonesia, Saint Christopher and Nevis, Paraguay, Belize, and Turkey.
