Requirements for Marriage Visa Application
The R.O.C.(Taiwan) reserves the right not to issue a visa and is under no obligation to disclose the reasons.

2 | Reservation of Interview and Submission |
All applicants are required to make reservation by email ( E-mail: roctmtaiwan@yahoo.com). After reservation is completed and an email confirmation received, applicants may visit Taipei Trade Office in Nigeria at the assigned time slot with all requirements ready and submit directly at the visa counter. Only Counter Application is acceptable. No Mail-in Application. For first time marriage application both applicant and spouse are required to submit the documents in person. |

1. Bachelorhood and Marriage Certificate in Nigeria, Ghana or Cameroon should be endorsed firstly by relevant authorities (check below) and by Taipei Trade Office in Nigeria. (1) Nigeria: State High Court where the marriage is conducted, and then legalized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria in Abuja. (2) Ghana and Gambia: documents are required to be notarized by local notary public, legalized by Judicial Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration ( Embassy or High Commission in Nigeria). (3) Cameroon: documents are required to be notarized by local notary public, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration ( Embassy or High Commission in Nigeria). Applicants from the above mentioned countries must submit the court affidavit for Bachelorhood declaration with applicant & witness's passport photos stamped by the court.(These must be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of applicant's country) If the applicant is divorced/widowed before, he/she ie required to submit endorsed divorce/death certificate(court proceeding included). If the applicant has children from previous spouse, he/she should provide the children's birth certificates.
2. Two colour passport-sized(1.5*2 inches) photographs taken within six months.
3. Personal ID Card
4. Original passport of applicant, both current and expired passports are required. The current passport must be valid for at least 1 year and 6 months on the date of application. Whereby the passport is lost, a police report should be provided.
5. Household registry record of Taiwanese spouse conducted in Taiwan over the past three months, notarized by Taiwan notary public, legalized by Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of ROC (Taiwan).
6. Signed Chinese Name Declaration for Taiwan household registration
7. Copies of Taiwanese spouse's ID and passport, both current and expired passports are required.
8. Letter of employment, bank statement(covering a period of 6 months) of both applicant and spouse.
9. Police character certificate( Non criminal report) conducted over the past one year with detailed report of over past five years.
10. Health Certificate (All test must be conducted or the form will be rejected) conducted over the past three months and legalized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria in Abuja(or Regional Integration of Ghana, Gambia and Cameroon)
11. Birth certificate and other relevant papers to prove identify of the applicants from Nigeria, Ghana, and Cameroon. Ghanaian applicant needs to submit Basic Education Certificate issued by Ministry of Education to prove identity.
12. Curriculum Vitae(CV) of both applicant and spouse.(including emergency contact and address)
13. The detailed report and evidences of applicant deliberating on personal and familial upbringing, educational background, working experience, the fact of dating and marrying, and the records of staying in Taiwan.
14. The detailed Chinese report of Taiwanese spouse deliberating on personal and familial upbringing, educational background, working experience, the fact of dating and getting married, and future plans.
15. Other evidences including photos, email thread and APP conversations proving the fact of being together and marriage.
16. Documents subjected to availability and required by Taipei Trade Office in Nigeria. 17. Proof of highest level of education should be provided Warning:

Marriage certificates, Bachelorhood(Affidavit), Chinese Name Declaration, Police Character, Medical Report are required to be endorsed(legalized) by Taipei Trade Office in Nigeria. Please refer to Legalization . |
7 | Processing Time | Visa processing time may differ from case to case. |
8 | Policy on Appointment NO-SHOWS | Applicant should note that scheduled appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled in 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment date and time. Applicants who fail to arrive for a scheduled appointment without cancellation/rescheduling his/her appointment would be considered as "no-show".
If an applicant has a no-show for an appointment more than one time, no further appointment would be scheduled for the applicant. |
