United States National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan presided over the event, alongside ministerial-level representatives from over 50 partner countries, including Australia, Canada, the EU, Japan, the UK and Taiwan. Digital Minister Audrey Tang signed the declaration on behalf of Taiwan, committing to promote a future for the internet that is open, free, global, interoperable, reliable, and secure.
Taiwan is committed to the idea that broadband access is a basic human right, and that an environment in which people have uncurtailed freedom of speech is the soil in which digital democracy can thrive.
