Representative Andy Liu to attend an academic lecture hosted by the International Affairs Students Association (IASA) on July 24th, 2023

The Department of Political Science at the University of Lagos, Nigeria invited Representative Andy Liu to attend an academic lecture hosted by the International Affairs Students Association (IASA) on July 24th, 2023. Professors Dr. Bamidele Olajide, Senior Lecturer Dr. Tola Odubajo, Senior Lecturer Dr. Godwin Okeke, research scholar Ebenzer Ishola and around 60 IASA member students attended this academic event.

Representative Liu delivered an hour long keynote speech titled "Nigeria and the World: Fostering a Vibrant Foreign Diplomacy" and engaged in discussions with IASA faculty and students. The speech primarily focused on introducing Taiwan’s democratic progress, economic and technological achievements, and Nigeria-Taiwan bilateral relations. Liu also explained Taiwan's commitment to collaborate with the newly elected President H. E. Bola Tinubu to develop Nigeria’s South-East into the “Taiwan of Africa”. IASA members were actively engaged through their questions and comments on topics such as the development of Taiwan-Nigeria bilateral exchanges and international cooperation. The event went smoothly with the lively discussions that followed.
