Photograph (1 piece): The photo must be a color passport-sized photo taken within the last 6 months, showing a clear, front-facing view with no hat and a white background. The length of the face from the top of the head to the chin should be between 3.2 to 3.6 cm. Please refer to The guidelines and standards of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for passport photographs.
Valid Passport of the Republic of China (Taiwan): Please remove the passport cover before submission.
New Zealand Identity Verification: A New Zealand passport or birth certificate. If the applicant resides outside New Zealand, they must provide an identity verification document from their place of residence, certified by the nearest Taiwan office.
For Minors: Proof of identity and residency for the legal guardian (e.g., New Zealand passport or visa). Also, documents proving the parent-child relationship, such as household registration or birth certificate.
Processing Time:
There is no application fee for this process. If no additional documents are required after submission, the processing time is 5-7 working days (excluding holidays and postal time).
To collect the documents, bring the receipt. If someone else is collecting on your behalf, they must present the receipt and identification.
If you require the office to mail the documents to a local New Zealand address, prepare a self-addressed, prepaid envelope with tracking or registered mail service. The office will not be responsible for delays or loss after mailing.
Important Notes:
The temporary resident visa is only available for application from overseas.
If you are in Taiwan, you may apply for an extension within 30 days before the current stay expires. Extensions are limited to a maximum of 3 months.
If the documents are lost, destroyed, or damaged before entry, you must reapply and pay the new document fee.
If documents are lost, destroyed, or damaged after entry, apply for reissuance at the local service stations of the National Immigration Agency or at the immigration office at airports or ports. Reissuance requires a fee of NT$300.
Documents required for the application that are produced abroad must be verified by the nearest Taiwan office.
