Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps (TRMPC) sent a team of 23 medical personnel to Palau from November 1 to 9, 2019 and had around 400 outpatients.
Team leader Doctor Cho-tsai Chang said, TRMPC is a non-government organization in Taiwan that provides free clinics in both Taiwan and countries around the world. TRMPC has already sent many medical missions to Africa, Asia, South America but has never been to Palau before.
On this medical mission, 23 medical personnel signed up voluntarily. Among them are doctors from physician, general medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, orthopedics services, dental services and Chinese medicine.
Dr. Chang also said, he would like to thank the Ministry of Health for its assistance so the team can provide free clinics to the most needed communities. The first two days of the mission was conducted at the Civic Center in Koror then moved to the Southern Community Health Center (SCHC) in Peleiu, Northern Community Health Center (NCHC) in Ngarchelong and Community Center In Airai.
All the TRMPC services are provided by volunteer doctors, nurses and staffs. They are in a mission to narrow disparities in global health services. They would often sign up the next mission trip after they finish one.
