In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis and nearly all scheduled flights were cut down worldwide, a highly anticipated charter flight from Taiwan arrived last evening, carrying with it a RT PCR machine, a centrifuge machine, an automated extraction machine, 1000 test kits and 2 infrared thermometers. And came along with the flight were 2 Taiwanese medical experts from Shin-Kong Hospital. They traveled to Palau against all odds to assist in installation of the aforementioned medical equipment and necessary training.
This is an action of pandemic prevention cooperation between the brotherly countries, Republic of China (Taiwan) and Palau, as well as the implementation of the spirit “Taiwan Can Help”.
In the donation ceremony, Palau Health Minister Emais Roberts thanked Taiwan President Tsai Ing-Wen, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Centers for Disease Control and Shin Kong Hospital for their valuable and timely assistance in the face of the global coronavirus outbreak. Palau will keep speaking out for Taiwan in UNGA and WHO and let the rest of the world know that “Taiwan is helping”.
