Both Taiwan and Palau are ocean countries, which truly value the importance of ocean environment and ecological conservation. Therefore, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Palau has always been supportive to Palau local events related to ocean, calling for the public’s attention to care our ocean.
Ambassador Jessica C. Lee visited the Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) on January 14, hosted by PICRC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Yimnang Golbuu, who warmly introduced projects conducted by the Center, as well as toured the Palau Aquarium. Ambassador Lee delivered a check of $1,500 to Dr. Golbuu, and she said that the PICRC is well recognized as a key organization to pursue Palau’s marine environment and ecological conservation, including implementing the Palau National Marine Sanctuary (PNMS). The Embassy will continue to work with the PICRC to explore more ocean-related cooperation and exchange between Taiwan and Palau.
