On Friday May 3, 2024, Ambassador Jessica C. Lee, Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) demonstrated support for Police Week by making a monetary donation of $1,000 to the Bureau of Public Safety (BPS) of the Ministry of Justice. The check was received by Chief Temdik Ngirblekuu, Acting Director of BPS and head of Division of Maritime Security and Fish and Wildlife protection, Chief Sanya Okeriil, Division of Juvenile Justice and Chief Jefferson. I. Eriich, Division of Fire and Rescue and Chairman of the Police Week Organizing Committee.
Amb. Lee thanked the BPS for their assistance in public safety and the recent Taiwanese visitors’ incidents. With this donation, she would like to honor and recognize their dedication and sacrifice. Chief Ngirblekuu and Chief Eriich expressed their gratitude for the support, and invite Ambassador Lee and her staff to participate in the Police Week activities.
The Police week will take place from May 12 to 18, 2024. The Bureau of Public Safety plans to organize various activities to reclaim the spirit of camaraderie and morale within the law enforcement community, such as Walk-a-thon, Blue Mass Service, Police Fair, Coastal Clean-up and Police Family Day, etc.
It is essential to show our appreciation for the law enforcement officers who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and the well-being of our communities. The Taiwan Embassy is honored to stand alongside the Bureau of Public Safety in solidarity with law enforcement personnel.
