Ambassador Klement Gu hosted the Taiwan Presidential Election Seminar for Swedish youth parties leaders on 24th January 2024.
On 24th January 2024, Ambassador Klement Gu invited leaders & members of Swedish youth parties, including Mr. Erik Berg, Chair of LUF, Ms. Caroline von Seth, Chair of CUF, Mr. Stefan Sarmes, Chair of KDU, Ms. Linnea Dubois, President of FMSF, Mr. Markus Barnevik Olsson, Environmental spokesperson of GU and other esteemed members of the organizations, to the Taiwan Presidential Election Seminar at Taipei Mission in Sweden.
During the seminar, Amb. Gu briefed the open and successful election result, which demonstrates Taiwan as a leading democracy, and congratulatory messages Taiwan received from more than 100 like-minded countries. Amb. Gu also explained China’s ploy by attempting to interfere the election through military harassment and by its action toward Naru. Amb. Gu later on expressed appreciation for Swedish long standing support for Taiwan, reiterating that democratic countries should unite together hand in hand to fight against authoritarian regimes and support Taiwan’s meaningful participation in international organizations such as WHA, Interpol, ICAO and UNFCCC.
