2024 Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) - open for applications

The 2024 Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) aims to inspire international students to pursue Mandarin Chinese courses in the Republic of China (Taiwan). This initiative provides eligible candidates, specifically citizens of Slovakia and Romania aged 18 and above with a high school diploma or higher, an opportunity to deepen their understanding of Taiwanese culture and society. The ultimate goal is to promote mutual understanding and interactions between Taiwan and the global community.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Citizenship: Slovak and Romanian
- Age: 18 and above
- Educational Qualification: High school diploma or above
Application Period:
February 1, 2024, to March 31, 2024
Two steps of application:
- 1st Step: Fill in the online application form and upload all required documents: via the 「Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Online Program System」 (https://taiwanscholarship.moe.gov.tw/Apply), select the ‘Taipei Representative Office, Bratislava: Slovakia/Romania and select the nationality 「Slovakia/Romania. Then, select「Taiwan Scholarship」and click on 「Add」 to complete all application data and upload the required documents.
- 2nd Step: Send the application to TROB. After completion of the online application, please mail all the original documents as listed below to Taipei Representative office, Bratislava (TROB) before March 31, 2024.
Recipients will receive a 25,000 New Taiwan Dollar (NTD) monthly stipend for each month of their scholarship award period. Students can apply for the following award periods, corresponding to their planned duration of study in Taiwan: 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months

Please note that our office can only accept scholarship applications of students who have citizenship of Slovakia or Romania. Applicants who are citizens of another country may apply for the scholarship through the Taiwanese embassy or representative office serving their home country.
