August 9th, 2024
On August 7, 2024, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand hosted the 2024 Taiwan Ministry of Education (MOE) Scholarship awards ceremony and pre-departure orientation, alongside the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship pre-departure orientation. These scholarships, established by Taiwan's Ministry of Education, aim to encourage outstanding international students to pursue degrees or Mandarin Chinese language studies in Taiwan, fostering stronger educational ties and promoting lasting friendships between Taiwan and the international community.
The "2024 Taiwan Ministry of Education Scholarship Award Ceremony and Pre-Departure Orientation" and the "2024 Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Pre-Departure Orientation" were held separately in the morning and afternoon, with Ms. Yi-han Hsueh, Second Secretary of the Education Division, delivering a speech. She warmly welcomed and sincerely congratulated all the award recipients, expressing hope for their academic and cultural experience journey in Taiwan. Secretary Hsueh emphasized that Taiwan has an excellent higher education environment, which not only allows Thai students to experience multiculturalism but also to build international networks and broaden their global perspectives. In addition, she recommended Taiwan's delicious cuisine, convenient transportation, and safe environment, encouraging students to fully immerse themselves in Taiwanese life. The morning event attracted 18 Taiwan MOE scholarship winners from various academic fields, including bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs. In the afternoon, 49 recipients of the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship participated online, where students were able to consult with 2023 awardees about their study abroad experiences, gaining valuable insights.
The event was instrumental in preparing MOE and HES scholarship recipients for their educational journey in Taiwan, equipping them with a comprehensive understanding of Taiwan's opportunities. We hope each participant found the event valuable and enlightening.
