AKA Chen's exceptional craftsmanship in pure titanium jewelry has garnered international attention. With over thirty years of dedication to the jewelry industry, Chen has been a pioneer in elevating Taiwan's jewelry creations to international acclaim. His exquisite craftsmanship and deep cultural roots are highly regarded by world-class museums. The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London included his "Magnolia" series, "ZEN," in their collection in 2017. In July of this year (2023), he was honored with the "Art and Culture Leadership Award" by the International Leadership Foundation (ILF) based in Washington, D.C.
His latest works from the "Magnolia" series, "GLORY" and "Peridot White Diamond Yellow Dragonfly," now are on display at Twin Oaks from October this year until 2024, October. This year-long exhibition combines FindARTs art technology developed by AUO, allowing international visitors to witness Taiwan's rich cultural heritage in art and technology.
"GLORY," combines pure titanium with elements such as garnet, chrysoberyl, green sapphire, and ceramics. It vividly captures the imminent bloom of magnolia, celebrating the incredible vitality of nature. "Peridot White Diamond Yellow Dragonfly" presents AKA Chen 's childhood memories, transforming the minimalist pure titanium into iridescent and colorful dragonfly wings with gem-like luster. This effect is achieved through the use of patented "pure titanium aurora colors." The exhibition is complemented by AUO's “High Fidelity Art Display” technology, which projects detailed photos of AKA CHEN's two pieces. This high resolution and sophisticated color reproduction technology, making its U.S. debut, allows viewers to appreciate the intricate details and textures of jewelry art on a digital interface, with each facet, line, color, and texture coming to life in changing light and shadows. It offers a top-tier, serene, and breathtaking viewing experience, immersing visitors in the timeless beauty of jewelry art.
This integrated virtual and physical presentation displays the classic series of works by Taiwanese jewelry designers. Visitors can experience the exquisite craftsmanship and strength of Taiwan's jewelry design and technological development.
