Before the performance by the Tendrum Art Percussion Group, the North Carolina Taiwan Art Association held a VIP reception featuring sumptuous Taiwanese food and snacks: Boba Milk Tea, Taiwanese Salty Crispy Chicken, Pineapple Cakes, Moon Cakes, and Mung Bean Pastry. The VIPs enjoyed a sensory feast, delighting in the visual, auditory, and culinary experiences, making for an immersive encounter with Taiwanese culture.
Director-General Eliot Wang, in his speech, highlighted that tonight's performance is a testament to the cultural cooperation between Taiwan and the United States, marking the 45th anniversary of the "Taiwan Relations Act." He noted that North Carolina established an office in Taiwan last October, and a delegation from Taiwan Electric Vehicles visited Charlotte for investment opportunities.
In a demonstration of the strong ties between Taiwan and the United States, congratulatory messages were read from Cary, the sister city of Hsinchu City; Kernersville, the sister city of Taoyuan Daxi; and the towns of Apex and Morrisville.
